Theraputic Relationship Free Essays

interim I spoke with my best with her do that she felt agreeable. Asa result, she gave a decent participation and appreciated the feast until wrapped up. In my assessing, I believe I settle on the correct choice to go with and assistMrs. We will compose a custom exposition test on Theraputic Relationship or then again any comparative theme just for you Request Now An in taking care of. Besides, I could build up my medical attendant patient relationship. In spite of the fact that McCabe (2004, p. 44) would portray it as an undertaking centredcommunication as one of the component caused the need correspondence amongnurses, however I think my medical attendant patient relationship correspondence both included agood quiet focused correspondence and assignment focused correspondence. In mypersonal conclusion, I took care of Mrs. An as a patient to show my compassion becauseshe couldn't take care of herself. It was likewise as my obligation to take care of her with the goal that I couldmake sure the patient get the best consideration in the ward. So my contribution in thisnurse-tolerant relationship doesn't just confine to the undertaking centredcommunication in light of the fact that (Burnard 1990, and Stein-Parbury 1993, refered to inMcCabe 2002, p. 44) characterize going to as a patient-focused procedure as wells as tofulfil the fundamental conditions as a medical caretaker to give the validity, warmth andempathy towards the patient. I had the option to improve my non-verbalcommunication abilities in my discussion with her during the taking care of. As she washaving a conference issue and couldn't convey in the first languageproperly, so the non-verbal correspondence assumes a job. Caris-Verhallen et al (1999, p. 809) express that the non-verbal correspondence becomes significant whencommunicating with the older individuals who build up a consultation issue. Hollman et al (2005, p31) recommends some compelling approaches to augment the correspondence 5 ith hearing impedance individuals, for example, consistently gains the person’s attentionbefore talking, obvious yourself to forestall them feel terrify and attempt to usesome delicate touch. I feel this is a decent encounter to me since I learn todevelop my non-verbal correspondence. I utilized a large portion of the body gesturersbecause of the language boundary was being a hole in my discussion with Mrs. A. She could talk exceptionally constrained in the main language so I attempted to talk in her lingo. Moreover, Wold (2004, p. 6) notice that gesturers are one specifictype of non-verbal correspondence expected to communicate thoughts and are helpful for individuals who can't utilize a lot of words. Anyway I likewise utilized my facial expressionsto encourage her to complete the feast. It may be not all that scrumptious on the grounds that shewithdraws the supper after scarcely any degrees yet I grinned and guaranteed Mrs. A that it wasgood for her wellbeing to complete her supper. Likewise, the outward appearances are mostexpressive which are not restricted to certain social and age obstructions (Wold, 2004,p. 6). Thusly my outward appearance worked out to urge her to complete themeal. Despite the fact that I was unable to disclose detail to her about the significant sustenance dietthat she should take, yet I could advocate her to complete the dinner served becausethe supper was set up as indicated by her condition. So as to invest igation of the occasion, I could assess that, my communicationskills are critical to give the best nursing care to Mrs. A. Mycommunication with Mrs. A was the relational correspondence. This isbecause the relational correspondence is a correspondence which required of two people (Funnell et al 2005, p. 438). I understood that my nonverbal 6 correspondence helped me a ton in my obligation to give the nursing care to Mrs. A. Despite the fact that she could comprehend scarcely any straightforward words when I was soliciting her yet Inoticed that one from the issues happens inside the correspondence was thelanguage obstruction. As the patient was not utilizing the official language and thesecond language, I attempted to communicate in her language. I despite everything could oversee thecommunication in our discussion. Be that as it may, it was very hard to advance theeffective verbal correspondence with the patient. Moreover, White (2005, p. 112)recommend that a medical attendant ought to gain proficiency with a couple of words or expressions in the predominantsecond language to comfort a patient for better understanding. In spite of the fact that itwas very troublesome yet utilizing the nonverbal at the same time with the verbalcommunication encouraged her to talk on her best to make me understandher words. In the occasion demonstrated that, there was a reaction from Mrs. A. when Iwas posing her inquiries. Channel et al (2005, p. 38) call attention to that acommunication would happen when an individual reacts to a message got andassigns significance to it. She gestured her head to allot that she concurred with me. Delaune and Ladner (2002, p. 191) clarify that the channel is one of thecomponent of the correspondence procedure which go about as a medium during themessage is conveyed. Likewise, Mrs . An additionally gave me an input that sheunderstood my message by transmitting the message by means of her body gesturers andeye conduct. Subsequently I could consider that the correspondence channels utilized inmy discussion were visual and sound-related. Delaune and Ladner (2002, p. 191)state an input is that the sender gets the data after the recipient respond to the message. In any case, Chitty and Black (2007, p. 218) characterize criticism 7 is a reaction to a message. In my circumstance, I was a sender who passed on themessage accepting the data from Mrs. A, the collector who consented to takelunch and permit me to take care of. Subsequently, I could examine that mycommunication with Mrs. A required of five segment of correspondence processwhich are sender, message, channel, collector and input (Delaune andLadner, 2002, p. 91). Basically, for my impression of this occasion investigates about on how thecommunication aptitudes assume a job on the medical caretaker tolerant relationship all together todeliver the nursing care towards the patient particularly the grown-up. She neededquite at some point to adjust the capacity changes in her day by day exercises living where Iwas attempting to help her in taking care of. I was concern ing my inclination and thoughtsduring the taking care of so I could improve more aptitudes in my correspondence. Isuccessfully spoke with her successfully as she delighted in completing themeal. So it is fundamental to assemble compatibility with her to urge her capacity to talk upverbally and non-verbal. In addition, this capacity could push her to communicateeffectively with other staff medical attendants. Afterward, she would not be disregarded due to her age or her inability to comprehend the data given about her treatment. (Hyland and Donaldson 1989, refered to in Harrison and Hart 2006 p. 22) notice thatcommunication express what the patients think and feel. So as to communicatewith grown-up, it is essential to evaluate her basic correspondence language andher capacity to collaborate in different dialects. As I utilized a few words in her dialect,I basically urged the patient to stand up verbally and impart non-8 verbal with the goal that the message could be comprehended and don't break the medical attendant patient correspondence. As I would like to think, I assessed that it doesn't a make a difference whether it was a patient-focused correspondence or errand focused communicationbecause both correspondence referenced by McCabe (2004) really doesinvolves correspondence to the patients. So it was anything but an issue to contend whichtype of correspondence includes in my discussion with my patient. After investigated the circumstance, I might reason that I was know the aptitudes for successful correspondence with the patient, for example, approach the patient, askingquestions, be an undivided attention, show my sympathy and bolster the patientemotions (Walsh, 2005, p. 34). As a matter of fact helping the grown-up was a decent work on indelivering the nursing care among grown-ups. My activity plan for the clinical practice later on, if there were patientsthat I have to help in taking care of or other nursing technique, I would set myself up better to deal with the patients who might have some trouble incommunication. This is on the grounds that, as one of the social insurance specialist, I need thebest care for my patients. So in identified with convey the best consideration to my patients, Ineed to comprehend them well indeed. I need to impart adequately as this isimportant to realize what they need most during warded under my watch as anurse. As per my experience, I realized that correspondence was thefundamental part to build up a decent relationship. Wood (2006, p. 13) express thata correspondence is the key establishment of relationship. Along these lines a goodcommunication is basic to get know the patient’s singular wellbeing status 9 The most effective method to refer to Theraputic Relationship, Papers

Books in College Essays

Books in College Essays March 18, 2012 Books that students love often come up in college essays. And thats a good thing! Books are a great way to showcase to college admissions counselors your love of learning, your love of reading and discovery (as long as youre not simply name-dropping books or authors as that gets boring fast). When college applicants write about books, though, they too often write about the same books. And when you write about the same books as everyone else is writing about, it becomes another essay about The Great Gatsby. Dont write about The Hunger Games in your college essays -- even if you read the books. Youll be one of way too many applicants who do so. Try to avoid writing about books that are obviously required reading at your high school. People are pretty familiar with the required reading book list because everyone had to read those books when they were in high school. Weve all read To Kill A Mockingbird. Weve all read The Grapes of Wrath. We may not all remember much about the details of these books but we know weve read them. We know theyre taught in high school classrooms. Show how you love to read outside of school. Show how youre eager to read books that arent required reading. But dont just write about The Hunger Games books or the Twilight books. Dont write about Harry Potter. Show your thirst for knowledge. Show how you like reading books that you dont just read because the Lionsgate marketing department tells you that its going to be a blockbuster movie franchise. Read a book off the beaten path and show (dont tell) why you love it and how this sheds insight on what youre all about. While youre here, check out this post: Advice on College Essays.

AI Is Coming. What Does That Mean For Business Education -

AI Is Coming. What Does That Mean For Business Education? by: Pearly Tan on October 23, 2018 | 0 Comments Comments 1,233 Views October 23, 2018Creative Commons photoComputer scientists and engineers Arthur Samuel and John McCarthy of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) pioneered breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence in the 1950s that are still discussed today. Earlier this month, MIT announced a $1 billion investment to launch a new college of computing that is slated to open September 2019. The game changing program, which will focus on AI is certain to ripple into business education and beyond.â€Å"It’s almost expected since MIT scientists helped create AI back then, though $1 billion is a massive investment, even by MIT standards. The message MIT is sending is that AI is here to stay and we’d better adapt ourselves,† Arthur Carvalho, Dinesh Ila Paliwal Innovation Chair Assistant Professor in Information Systems Analytics at the Farmer School of Business at Miami University tells PoetsQuants. â€Å"I believe that other universities will follow very soon, and this initiative by MIT will not be the only one.†The new college of computing will be named after Chairman and CEO of The Blackstone Group, a global private equity group, Stephen A. Schwarzman, who made a $350 million foundational gift. MIT announced that the $1 billion investment marked the single largest investment in computing and AI by an American academic institution, and the hope is that the new college will help position the United States as a leader in the computing and AI revolution. â€Å"As computing reshapes our world, MIT intends to help make sure it does so for the good of all,† MIT President L. Rafael Reif, said. â€Å"In keeping with the scope of this challenge, we are reshaping MIT. The MIT Schwarzman College of Computing will constitute both a global center for computing research and education, and an intellectual found ry for powerful new AI tools. Just as important, the College will equip students and researchers in any discipline to use computing and AI to advance their disciplines and vice-versa, as well as to think critically about the human impact of their work. Arthur Carvalho. Miami University photoCHANGING BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONThe new college will be headquartered in a new building on MIT’s campus, which part of the investment will fund. But other than building costs, the money will go to hiring 50 faculty members that are industry experts and thought leaders. The positions will be in departments across MIT, since AI touches almost every field today, from sociology and science, to politics and urban planning, and will almost double MIT’s academic capability in computing and AI. Part of the investment will also be put into buying cutting-edge machinery and technology and providing scholarships for students the school wants to attract. The college will also provide a shared st ructure for collaborative education, research, and innovation in computing and AI, where students are educated in every discipline to responsibly use and develop AI and computing technologies while strengthening its position as a key international player in technology development and societal transformation.Eric Schwartz, assistant professor of marketing at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, agrees that the MIT investment is just the renewal of an AI movement in schools, as business education steps ahead to provide talent to the industry demanding it.â€Å"College of computing is a term that already exists in institutes, but what this has the potential to do is inspire other universities to do more in AI, making one billion more than a billion,† Schwartz says. â€Å"AI has already transformed business today with machine learning and systems designed to take in data in real time to analysis preferences and tendencies before updating the same systems to o ptimize their performance. Change is already here.†Schwartz adds that AI is already defining business online as we know it, and that an increasing number of students have been showing up with interest in analytics and data science, saying they want the skills needed to lead the field. Comparing it to language learning, Schwartz says business education needs to create students who come out of business schools with the ability to translate societal problems into quant models and algorithms, and into mathematical and computational languages. That’s where, he says, massive potential of AI lies. Page 1 of 212 »

Can School Reform Succeed Without Addressing Poverty

Can School Reform Succeed Without Addressing Poverty? Education reform, the goal of changing public education for the better, has been an idea in the minds of officials and parents since the 1800’s. There have been many effortful attempts to create effective school reform, however, many of them do not address major social issues such as poverty which must be dealt with. Although many reforms have changed our country, none have brought the amount of change necessary to make our schools fit to fairly and thoroughly educate each and every student. Recent reform acts such as the NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act) focused on holding schools accountable for student success; however, this, like many other acts failed in many ways. The NCLB†¦show more content†¦Due to the many large scale reform acts of previous, it is almost obvious that we need a change in the public schooling system. The aim of each act is to make a just system for each student to achieve. However, not all public school children are succeeding, in fact a lar ge fraction of students are failing. Not only are the students failing, but entire schools are failing. This make origin a predictor of success because each school, depending on origin, is financed differently. Origin, however, is ultimately based upon income, therefore, income is the ultimate predictor of success. This means that the paycheck of the family that a child is born into more or less determines the child’s educational success. This is one of the many reasons why reform is necessary; because school as it is does not offer each child the same opportunities. This makes a main issue of public schooling a social issue, poverty. Poverty changes the way that students and schools perform. In 1988, a national study was done on student poverty and performance levels of eight grade students. The results of the data led to the conclusion that: High poverty public schools in the sample show a considerably greater need for special educational support programs than do low poverty schools; that students in these schools, whatever their family socioeconomic status, have lower achievement than do students in the low poverty schools; and that schools with more than 50 percent of their

Religion and Prayer in Public Schools Essay - 1469 Words

Religion in Public Schools The practice of religion has been a major factor in American culture for centuries. The religion clause of the First Amendment, which states Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, was developed to preserve the freedom of religion (Haynes 2). The religion clause was designed to protect religion from the control of the government, but, consequently, it restricts the expression of religion in public institutions such as public schools. Even with these guidelines, the debate over the extent of religion in public schools continues. Favoring a loose interpretation of the religion clause are the supporters of the interaction between religion and the public school. These people firmly believe that religion should have an active role in the school curriculum. Charles C. Haynes, the scholar-in-residence at the Freedom Forums First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University, participates in the fight to introduce religion into the public school curriculum. In April of 1996 during an interview with Ron Brandt, Haynes stated that under the First Amendment public schools may neither promote nor obstruct religion. Haynes believes that schools must be neutral, and neutrality means fairness even in regards to the curriculum. Haynes concedes that promoting student freedom of co nscience and recognizing religion . . . in the curriculum creates a school culture in which no one imposes religious beliefs or practices on others . . . (73). In his own article, Haynes discusses the possible risks of including religion i n public school curriculum. He concludes that to integrate religion into the curriculum could risk the separation of the government from the church, but the greater risk is not to do so (Haynes 2). The American Dream By James Baldwin - 1503 Words

How would one feel if they spent their entire lives working towards an unattainable goal? That goal is the American Dream, a term that can be loosely defined as one’s attempt at what they believe is success, whether it be a family, high-paying career, a beautiful home, or all three. The American Dream can be whatever one makes of it. James Baldwin and William Buckley strongly debated this issue with underlying similarities but ultimately Baldwin had a stronger argument. This House Believes in the American Dream is at the Expense of the American Negro, was a historic 1965 debate about society’s mistreatment of the African American race throughout history. Baldwin highlighted that white Americans innately believe they are still superior to African Americans and their pursuit of the American Dream holds more weight while Buckley attempted to discredit him. Baldwin drew scrutiny to the social injustices faced by blacks in their daily lives especially in their pursuit of t he American Dream and attempted to direct white America’s attention to the issues that desperately need a solution. Baldwin opens his argument acknowledging the distortion of segregation for the segregationists. Five ripe pears and on moralit Essay Example For Students

Five ripe pears and on moralit Essay Morality is, in essence, subjugated by he who defines it. This being the case, morality (defined as right or wrong, good or evil) is malleable as long as it does not impede upon any â€Å"ipso facto virtue†(Didion). In the essay â€Å"On Morality†, by Joan Didion, this aspect ‘on morality’ is composed. This will be utilized to verify that William Saroyan’s (author of â€Å"Five Ripe Pears) guilt of an immoral action is conflicting given specified conditions. To begin, â€Å"On Morality† is an essay of a woman who travels to Death Valley on an assignment arranged by The American Scholar. â€Å"I have been trying to think, because The American Scholar asked me to, in some abstract way about ‘morality,’ a word I distrust more every day†¦.† Her task is to generate a piece of work on morality, with which she succeeds notably. She is placed in an area where morality and stories run rampant. Several reports are about; each ca rried by a beer toting chitchat. More importantly, the region that she is in gains her mind; it allows her to see issues of morality as a certain mindset. The idea she provides says, as human beings, we cannot distinguish â€Å"what is ‘good’ and what is ‘evil’†. Morality has been so distorted by television and press that the definition within the human conscience is lost. This being the case, the only way to distinguish between good or bad is: all actions are sound as long as they do not hurt another person or persons. This is similar to a widely known essay called â€Å"Utilitarianism† Morality and the Good Life by J.S. Mills with which he quotes â€Å"†¦ actions are right in the proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness.†Consequently, Saroyan’s action of taking pears could be viewed as moral or immoral given certain circumstances. At the age of six, Saroyan was ca tegorized as a thief for taking five pears from a tree. His argument, although a spiked fence protected the pear tree, is â€Å"some branches grew beyond the fence.†This, to Saroyan, makes whatever is on the exposed branches public property. With Didion’s argument of morality, Saroyan is only guilty of immorality if his action hurt another individual/individuals. Thus, two seemingly obvious circumstances will be examined being as impartial as possible. Case one: First and foremost, the owner of the pear tree seems like an immediate victim of the taking of the fruit, although nothing is said about him/her in the essay. Being a full-grown pear tree, â€Å"I couldn’t reach the pears, so I started leaping† (aspect of a large tree: having to leap to reach its branches) it seems clear that there are several other pears on the tree. As a result, the owner most likely would not be at loss for 5 measly pears. Verdict: Not guilty. Case two: Saroyan as a child can be viewed as a victim. By this analysis he is a victim of 1) unmerited guilt of an act 2) and an undeserved licking. You may ask yourself does this make him guilty. With Didion’s view on morality (as long as no one is hurt the action it is acceptable) this makes Saroyan guilty of an immoral feat. Although Saroyan was reared several times in school, â€Å"†¦I got a lot of them lickings in grammar school.† he was impartial to it. Yet, this time he felt he was not guilty and didn’t deserve the beating, making him wrongly handled. This proves that Saroyan himself was a victim of distress, being put in a hurtful situation of whipping (if he knowingly recognized that repercussion of his action before doing acting). Verdict: Guilty as charged. .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .postImageUrl , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:hover , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:visited , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:active { border:0!important; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:active , .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946 .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ua2089eb0bff919b70ee2e7f9c9ca5946:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Modern Education: Changing For The Future Analysis EssayIn a few words, Didion’s morality makes Saroyan guilty because of the pain he endured because of his taking of the five ripe pears. International students should be exempted from paying taxes, unless they are working in the host country

Introduction Due to globalization which is characterized by advanced technology especially in transportation, coupled with the desire to learn from other countries, it has been realized that the rate of students seeking education in foreign counties has increased.Advertising We will write a custom report sample on International students should be exempted from paying taxes, unless they are working in the host country specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More However, changes and development of internet contributed to the fact that learners are able to obtain desired education certificates by studying in their motherland (Dwyer, 2009). This does not mean that there are no international students. It is worth mentioning that Universities and collages have relied heavily on international students for income as well as resources. Although there have been serious issues facing international students such as cultural differences and communication or language barriers, there is no such burning question as whether or not these students should pay taxes. There are those that should be exempted from paying taxes regardless of whether these students work or not; on the other hand, there are those who believe that they opt to pay taxes since they enjoy the services and goods of the host countries (Vance Ahlstedt, 1996). The title of persuasive essay is ‘international students should be exempted from paying taxes, unless they are working in the host country’. According to Dwyer, 2009, international students refer to those individuals who are seeking education in other countries and they will stay in that country for the period they will be studying. I believe relieving foreign students from paying taxes will go long way in ensuring that they are not further troubled since they have a whole host of issues to handle such as language barrier and cultural differences. The paper is divided into the following sections, int roduction where the thesis statement is brought forth, the main body where the supporting arguments for my case are succinctly covered and lastly the conclusion section where the summary of main points are brought forth. The thesis statement is then re-stated. Supporting arguments I believe that exempting those international students who are not working will go an extra mile in ensuring that Universities and collages open doors for more international students. This is a good concept since it allows to share and learn about other cultures which will help in ensuring that the world’s populations partially or fully understand the various cultures hence they are able to do business successfully in various destinations (Rajapaksa Dundes, 2003).Advertising Looking for report on education? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Assuming that international students are taxed, there will be higher chances that new and prospecting stud ents will be discouraged from seeking studies overseas. In addition to hindering cross-cultural learning and knowledge sharing, this will compromise the advantages Universities and collages enjoyed such as financial gains (Goodman, 2006). On the same note, this act will deny majority of international students the opportunity of enjoying the services and high quality education that could not be obtained from their home countries. This will have a serious long-term impact not only on individuals but also on the entire country of students’ origin. Additionally, when such students are not allowed to learn in foreign countries, they will develop hard feelings about the potential host country. This kind of hostility combined with other causes of ‘perceived injustices’ will make such individuals a security threat in terms of terrorism. If the host countries try to invest in the countries by sending students to study overseas, it will be fully supported in all spheres (l egally, politically and economically) and it will enjoy doing business in that country (Ault Martell, 2007). Secondly, I hold the view that exempting international students from paying taxes especially those who are not working will ensure that they are relieved from the hustle involved in dealing with tax issues; this will provide them with an ample opportunity to fully concentrate on academics (Vance Ahlstedt, 1996). Additionally, having in mind that the majority of international students face serious challenges such as language barrier, cultural differences, changes in climate among others, it would be a plus if the host country has an arrangement where these kind of students are exempted from paying taxes (Goodman, 2006). It will reduce the number of issues they have to worry about, hence, giving them an opportunity to adapt to the new environment quickly and with ease. Thus the students will be in a better position to concentrate and do well in class. In my thesis statement, I said that there is need to tax those international students who are working. This will discourage international students from seeking job opportunities instead of learning. Additionally, it will encourage students to go back to their countries once they complete their education. This will ensure that the host countries are not too congested which will put less pressure on existing resources and at the same time allow new students to seek education in foreign countries to get the opportunity (Rajapaksa Dundes, 2003).Advertising We will write a custom report sample on International students should be exempted from paying taxes, unless they are working in the host country specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More I do believe it is the responsibility of ‘richer’ countries to encourage individuals from developing countries to seek studies and support them. This in the long run will help balance the existing inequality between developed and developing countries. To accomplish this, foreign students should not be taxed. Another reason to support my thesis statement rests on the idea that if international students are compelled to pay taxes, they will indulge in illegal activities to raise money for the same personal upkeep and entertainment. In the United States, for instance, those who have engaged in drug trafficking are students who do so with the aim of raising more money to meet their daily need since little money they receive is taxed (Rajapaksa Dundes, 2003). To avoid such a scenario, it would be rational to exempt international students from paying taxes. On the same note, being compelled to pay taxes will add frustration to international students. This will drive them to engage in drug abuse such as alcohol, bhang, heroine and cocaine in the pretense that it will help relieve stress. More importantly, since some of the international students are from third world countries who are sponsored by the government, family members or organizations, it would be unreasonable to tax them, bearing in mind that going overseas is costly. There are cases where the government of the host country and the one sending students have reached an agreement not to tax the students. Not taxing them will uphold such an agreement leading to a mutual understanding between the two countries (Ault Martell, 2007). Conclusion International students should not pay taxes. I believe that having an arrangement where those who work in the host country should pay taxes while those not working should be exempted; it will be important in encouraging students. International students are those individuals who seek higher education in a foreign country stay there as long as the study continues.Advertising Looking for report on education? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Exempting international students from paying taxes will help encourage more prospecting students to get the same opportunity. At the same time, it will encourage cross-cultural learning, knowledge sharing and ensuring that Universities and collages continue gaining financial benefits associated with the program. I have also argued that exempting international students especially those who are not working will help in ensuring that the students are relieved from the burden of worrying about tax issues. This will further provide them with an ample opportunity to concentrate on their studies and even complete the program within the stipulated time. Additionally, the exemption will ensure that international students do not get engaged in heinous activities such as drug trafficking and drug abuse. More importantly, when international students are exempted from paying taxes, the relationship created among such students of different origin improves due to mutual respect. This in the long r un will provide a favorable environment for Foreign Direct Investments. However, I think taxing international student who are working will help fight the problem of brainwashing which is rampant in the developing countries as well as easing pressure on the available resources in the host countries. adolescence essays

adolescence essays Adolescence for me is the period within human life when most of a person's characteristics are changing from childlike to adultlike. Changes in the body are the most observable occurring at this stage. Other kinds of developments take place such as, intellectual, academic. Social and spiritual. During the phase of Adolescence, girls body is changing in size, shape, and hormonal structure. Adolescent girls focus on their changing bodies. They feel, look and act differently. Absorbing all these changes is very difficult. The preoccupation with bodies at this age cannot be overstated. Small flaws become obsessions. Just at this point that their bodies are becoming rounder, girls are told that thin is beautiful, even imperative. Girls in this stage feel an enormous pressure to be beautiful and are aware of constant evaluations of their appearance. The movie "Welcome to the dollhouse" illustrates this phenomena. Dane had never worried who was popular or attractive, but with puberty everything changed. Her clssmates suddenly started to tease her because of how she looked. All of asudden, her looks mattered. Her nickname was "dogface," and they called her like this to her face. She was largely ignored by the other kids. Her self-esteem started to crumble as she experienced r ejections. At this stage of life, girls who are unpopular, are discriminated. And popular almost always is tied with being beautiful. In this case, Dane was seen as ugly by her classmates and worst of all without an identify. This was the reason why she was left out of social life and missed the developmental experiences adolescents most need at this stage of their life. Dane was starting to notice the importance of physical appearance in order to be accepted by people. Even with her parents this was an issue. Her parents were always paying their undivided attention to their youngest child and not to Dane. Therefore Dane tied it up as ...

Talent Factory Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Talent Factory - Essay Example Here we look on those organizations that are well prepared for the future and have a strategy that is suitable to groom future leaders. These organizations have talent factories working internally or we can say they groom people for future so they can take up bigger responsibilities. They do this by merging two important things these are functionality and vitality. These people who are being groomed tend to become future leaders for the organizations. In this article the reader has looked upon the two top talent factories Procter & Gamble and the HSBC group both have different approaches to groom people for future but have been successfully grooming future leaders for some time. Functionality basically refers to the processes, tools, and the systems that allow any firm to put the right people at the right positions; this helps in linking the processes of the company to its objectives. HSBC follows the motive of giving people the feel of a local bank when they operate internationally, and link it with their daily processes to make it possible. HSBC keeps track of the people that are performing well at lower positions all over the world in their organization. ... The people of higher management in HSBC usually know their counterparts in other countries this builds a network of HSBC which enables them to collaborate in an easier way. Procter and Gamble on the other hand follows another strategy for talent hunt. P & G conduct its talent hunt through their growth plans; the organization hires new recruits from the local markets of the country they are operating in. For example hiring officers in China hire Chinese locals. This way the organization exploits talent from the country they are operating in. The new recruits are considered to be future leaders in the market they are working, but the higher level managers are still hired globally meaning that the executives decide of their hiring. P & G conduct training programs to train new recruits, special training programs outside the resident's country are also conducted. The organization helps new hires through mentors and special cross functional teams. The new employees are constantly given dif ferent opportunities to prove themselves, for example in 3 to 4 years of his or her hiring an employee has worked on more than 5 products with different people and in different scenarios. The organization has a very efficient system of hiring and pays close attention to it. The talent hunt system is conducted through a proper procedure with a program that keeps track of middle and upper middle managers. Their performances and successful projects in the past and the projects they are working on in the future. The managers are then promoted appropriately, according to their merit. Now coming to Vitality that is the other part of the combination of talent factories.

Loyalty Programmes in Hotels Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 19000 words

Loyalty Programmes in Hotels - Essay Example This research attempts to achieve an insight into the value of loyalty programmes to businesses and more specifically examine the value of loyalty programmes to hotels. Review of secondary data is applied to understand the value of loyalty programmes to businesses while a survey among hotels is conducted to examine its value to the hotels. Loyalty Programmes are defined as â€Å"schemes offering delayed, accumulating economic benefits to consumers who buy the brand†. Satisfaction does not equal loyalty. A customer can be very satisfied with the product, but still be not loyal towards it. In order to encourage loyalty, firms develop loyalty programs. Typically, in a Loyalty Program, customers accumulate assets, points or rewards by accumulating their purchases from a local firm which is either exchanged for goods or the services, though not always associated with the firm. This generally adopts the system of points wherein the points can be exchanged for a variety of benefits s uch as free flyer points, gifts, trips, etc. â€Å"Airline frequent-flier programs have been a prototype for many of the schemes†. Such schemes are based on the concept of repeat purchase, and in most businesses today, a large part of sales results from repeat purchase. This fact is being increasingly recognized by enterprises that are implementing loyalty programmes to encourage such purchase pattern.  ... Management Essay Example for Free

Management Essay Our group feels that this question can be answered in 2 different ways namely, from the manager’s perspective or from the employee’s perspective for each aspect of Ajzen’s theory. 1. Attitude toward the behaviour  In this case, the ‘attitude’ here refers to that of the recession. From employees’ perspective – employees will be low in spirits and morale during a recession as they know that there is a high possibility that they will be retrenched by the company. From manager’s perspective – The manager will have a positive attitude about improving the performance of the employees during a recession because if they do not do so, the company will take a long time or never recover from the recession. The manager can improve the employee’s performance by a. Communicating with the employees about the recession and the possible impacts it will have on the workplace. b. Provide continuous feedback which includes occasional recognition and rewards to boost their morale. c. Attribute the employees’ consistent performance and update them on the state of the economy. 2. Subjective norm From employees’ perspective – employees feel that they should not give in their 100% at work in times of a recession as the likelihood of being retrenched is still prominent, so why work so hard? They are pressured by their peers to act in this manner. From manager’s perspective – managers are pressured by the top management (CEOs, shareholders) to think of ways to improve the employees’ performance. Such methods are as mentioned earlier above. 3. Perceived Behavioural Control  From employees’ perspective – it is very easy to succumb to peer pressure and not give in their best in their work in times of a recession. From manager’s perspective – managers are completely in charge on their intention to improve the employees’ performance during a recession as it is their job to do so.

The Emerging American Character During the 1700’s :: essays research papers

The Emerging American Character During the 1700’s (7 There once was an Italian man by the name of Amerigo Vespucci, who sailed the seas and explored South America. And later named America after himself. And there was Bartholomew Diaz who was also a navigator of the sea, but he was from Portugal, and the first European to round the cay of good hope in 1488. Then there was another Italian explorer, he to commanded the English exploration and alter discovered the North American mainland. He was John Cabot. The House of Burgesses was the lowest legislative house, and it was located in colonial Virginia. Holy land in America is the strange politico, mainly religious sects. (Palestine) There was a series of brutal wars undertaken by the Christians of Europe, this took place between the 11th and 14th century, that was the crusades. It happened to recover the great holy lands from the Muslims. Another great navigator from Portugal was Henry the navigator, he was the prince of Portugal who began to establish an observatory and also a school of navigation, and he also directed many long voyages that ignited the growth of Portugal’s colonial empire. The lost colony of Virginia was the Roanoke land that was taken over by the â€Å"Drotuann† Native Americans. Intercolonial wars refer to when the French and Indian wars between Great Britain and France in the late seventeenth and sixteenth century, these wars started a great change to British colonies. How to End a Relationship? Essay

What is love? They say love is a heterogeneous conglomeration of absurdity calculated to bamboozle the anatomy of the individual who becomes intoxicated with its abominable and irresistible power. Love is a feeling you feel when you feel that you are going to get a feeling that you never felt before. Many people engage in relationships and invest emotionally because of â€Å"love†. But then again, in some cases we just hear that a known couple end up breaking up. Reasons why? That is the number question that immediately enters into the people’s mind whenever they hear break up stories.    These people mistook infatuation for love. They intertwined these two words â€Å"infatuation† and â€Å"love†. These two are totally different! Infatuation is ruled by feelings but love’s feelings are ruled by principle. In the field of infatuation, the feelings are in charge. But the problem is that our feelings are fickle. They change easily. Today you feel great, so you kiss her. Tomorrow you feel terrible, so you kick her. That is not love! Infatuation is blind, but love sees and examines. Infatuation is in a hurry, but love takes time. Infatuation is obsessed with externals, but love is concerned with internals. Infatuation is a human ditch, but love is a divine ladder and lastly, Infatuation is childish but love is mature. These are the things that sometimes a normal being struggles especially when at the middle of his/her relationship he/she founds out that he/she does not really love him/her at all. So sad isn’t it? And even to the extent that they don’t know how to break lose of that relationship.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   People often question how? How can I tell her/him it is already over? I am afraid to hurt her, I am afraid that he/she might not be able to accept it. Common clichà ©s and excuses we hear everyday from those individuals who aren’t happy with their lover anymore. What one needs to do is talk with his/he partner. Communication is the most important thing to prevent further damages especially in the emotional aspect of the person. Tell him/her everything you feel, everything that is inside of your heart. Never hide it or wear mask. It will just keep him/her on expecting that everything is still going fine and good. Set a time, a time when both of you are at peace, emotionally and spiritually. Talk with her in a place that is private, a place free from communication barriers. Communicating our own true feelings is not easy, and does not come naturally so one has to be really prepared. It is a skill that needs to be learned with patience and perseverance. But we communicate meaningfully only when we take the risk of revealing our inner selves, our inner feelings and sharing our real feelings.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Do not directly jump into break up even at the beginning of the conversation. First, explain to her that for all the years or time you have been with her was amazing, that you treasured it most. You cherished the memories you shared together. You are happy to see her that very moment. Never throw words that will only keep him/her hanging and expecting that is if you still have a plan of getting back into her in the future. But the very proper is say words that are pointblank. Words that are not hurtful, words that says your feelings but does not leave a scar, although it is just normal to be hurt after each breakups. Tell her that there are just things that are uncontrollable, events that are inevitable. Say that you do not want that your relationship will just cause you to hurt someone if you keep on continuing it well in fact you are no longer happy. You just cannot force yourself to continue something that is out of your will. You are not longer happy with what is going on with your relationship or maybe you still have some things to do, to achieve and to fulfill. After saying these things, let him/ he understand fully you stand. Do not end your conversation without letting her comprehend and see things in the aspect that does not give a negative impression about himself/ herself. Keep the friendship. Even if you are not couples or lovers already, make a decision to keep the friendship alive between the two of you. May be you two are not just meant to be lovers but just friends. Let you friendship stay and never let it be destroyed by anything. Never leave the place until you patch things up, yes it is impossible to just easily patch things up after a break up but just have a try, no one dies if he/she tries right?   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Break up is not an easy experience especially when you are really in love with the person. But what can you do when your partner is not already happy, satisfied or contented? Nothing! You can never force someone to stay and to love you forever. Let us remember that there are those people who are just really meant to be our friends while there is only one who God destined for us, to be our lifetime partner.

How Diasporic Paradigm Is Our Former Essentialist And...

In a paper published on boundary 2 in 1998, Ien Ang examines how diasporic paradigm reshapes our former essentialist and monolithic understanding of Chineseness. From a diasporic perspective, both the geographical and cultural borders of the current regime of China would lose the authority to define and delineate the significance of â€Å"Chinese† (Ang 225. Moreover, she tries to develop this paradigm by revealing insufficient points in current discussion and proposing a more overdetermined understanding of diasporic identity based on â€Å"different historical, geographical, political, and cultural contexts† (Ang 227). For instance, the author investigates the theory of â€Å"cultural China† from Tu Wei-ming and discusses its contribution as well as restriction to the diasporic paradigm for studying Chineseness. On the one hand, the author appreciates Tu’s effort to challenge the former hegemonic structure of â€Å"center/periphery†, in which the center (mainland China) has undoubted priority and authority to define China and Chinese, by stressing the political possibility of diasporic and peripheral Chinese intellectuals (Ang 228-230). On the other hand, the author argues that since upmost concern of Tu still lies in the Mainland China, Tu actually underpins the hegemonic structure of China unconsciously by displacing the former center with a new center named â€Å"culture China†, which is regarded as a coercive incorporation or arrogant exclusion regardless of specificities of diasporic Chinese.Show MoreRelatedAnalysis Of The Diasporic Paradigm 806 Words   |  4 Pa ges1998, based on the diasporic paradigm, Ien Ang examines current criticism to monolithic Chineseness.
